NordVPN is a commercial VPN service with a Mac desktop client. Sign in with a Nord account and an active subscription, select a location or connect automatically, and route supported traffic through an encrypted connection to a NordVPN server. Websites typically see the VPN server's public IP address instead of the original connection address.

Service and scope

A VPN can protect traffic between the device and the VPN server on untrusted networks. It does not make every activity anonymous, prevent all tracking, remove account-based identification or replace security updates. The service operator and destination services remain part of the connection. Server availability, protocols and optional security features depend on the application distribution, subscription and current service configuration. Do not assume every feature advertised for another operating system is available in this Mac package.

Mac requirements and installation

The publisher's current Mac download page lists macOS 14 Sonoma or later. The catalog currently points to the standalone NordVPN-OpenVPN version 10.12.0 PKG; its official CDN reports exactly 297,126,680 bytes. The publisher also links a Mac App Store distribution, whose version numbers and capabilities can differ from the standalone installer. Use the official installer and authorize the required network configuration according to the setup instructions. An internet connection is needed to authenticate and establish the VPN tunnel.
