Beschreibung
Maestro is a desktop command center for developers managing multiple AI coding agents and projects. It is the RunMaestro project, not the unrelated Maestro mobile-testing tool. Its keyboard-oriented interface brings agent conversations, terminal sessions, project files and Git context into one workspace.
Coordinate agents and projects
Run separate agents and conversation tabs, queue prompts, discover and resume supported provider sessions, inspect files and diffs, and coordinate agents in group chats. Auto Run processes Markdown task checklists, with a fresh AI session for each task. Git worktrees can isolate parallel work, while the usage dashboard reports provider usage and costs. Maestro also provides a companion CLI and an optional phone-access web interface.
Setup and compatibility
Install the Mac application and select the matching Apple Silicon or Intel download. This catalog package requires macOS 12 or later; Windows and Linux releases are available separately. At least one supported coding-agent CLI must already be installed and authenticated. Official integrations include Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, OpenCode, Factory Droid and beta Copilot CLI support. Git is optional for Git-aware features. Node.js and compilation tools are source-build requirements, not requirements to use the packaged Mac application.
Accounts, costs and data
Maestro is open source under AGPL-3.0. Installing the application does not include a model subscription or API allowance: provider accounts, authentication, usage limits and charges remain separate. Maestro passes through the provider's configured MCP tools, skills and permissions. Prompts and project content sent to an agent follow that provider's processing and retention policies; this interface does not turn a cloud-backed provider into an offline model.
Automation and remote access
Agents and command terminals can execute commands, edit files and perform Git operations with the access granted to them. Review provider permissions, task instructions and changes before enabling unattended playbooks. Worktree isolation is not a security sandbox. Remote phone access exposes powerful controls and should be enabled only when needed, with pairing links and tokens treated as credentials. Version 0.17.8 restricts the server to loopback while Live is off, opens LAN access only when Live is enabled, rejects browser requests from unrelated origins and restricts token-file access to the current user. Disabling Live rotates the token. Reverse proxies must preserve the original Host header.
