Beschreibung

Amazon Corretto is Amazon's no-cost distribution of the Open Java Development Kit. This package provides the Corretto 17 JDK, including the Java runtime and development tools for compiling, testing and running applications that target Java 17.

Setup and compatibility

The current release targets macOS 14 or later. The package here is the aarch64 installer for Apple Silicon; the publisher also lists an x86_64 Mac target. Download the appropriate installer, follow the system installation prompts and check your selected Java version and JAVA_HOME before building a project. Your application's memory and dependency requirements are separate from installing the JDK.

Corretto is available at no cost and is based on open-source OpenJDK. The official Corretto 17 LICENSE contains GNU GPL version 2 and the Classpath exception for files expressly designated with that exception; separate notices and component terms still apply. Official license. Check the included license notices and any separate dependency licenses when distributing applications. The JDK is a development runtime, so running a Java program gives that program access according to your operating-system account and permissions; only run trusted code. Installing it does not require sending your application's source code to a hosted AI or compilation service.
