About

WiFiSpoof is a macOS application for changing the MAC address of a computer’s Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection. It provides a graphical alternative to making these changes in Terminal and supports restoring the address to its default.

  • Randomize a MAC address immediately or at a chosen interval, or set a specific address.
  • Use a built-in vendor database to look up vendor identifiers.
  • Create rules that select an address based on the connected network or other network events.
  • Use global keyboard shortcuts to access the app and quickly randomize an address; the app also provides network information and searchable history.

To install the Homebrew cask, run brew install --cask wifispoof. WiFiSpoof requires macOS 14 or later and a built-in Wi-Fi or Ethernet card. The app is intended for networks where changing a device’s MAC address is relevant, such as testing or networks with device-based restrictions. Changing a MAC address does not itself encrypt network traffic.
