Transmission is a Networking app for Mac.

About

Transmission is an open-source BitTorrent client with a native macOS application. This entry is for the transmission@beta Homebrew cask: its release selection can include both stable and pre-release versions, so the token does not mean that every installed build is a beta. The supplied cask currently points to a stable release.

  • Manage BitTorrent downloads in a straightforward desktop interface.
  • Configure advanced options such as watch directories, blocked-peer lists, and the web interface.
  • Use privacy-related controls, tracker editing, peer communications, and transfer speed limits.
  • The project describes Transmission as lightweight and open source.

Install the cask with brew install --cask transmission@beta, then open Transmission from /Applications. The cask installs Transmission.app. This cask conflicts with transmission and transmission@nightly, so those casks cannot be installed alongside it. The supplied package metadata identifies macOS as the required platform.

Download the same file Homebrew uses: github.com/transmission/transmission/releases/download/4.1.3/Transmission-4.1.3.dmg

Uninstall command
$ brew uninstall --cask \      transmission@beta

A regular uninstall removes the app and keeps its settings and caches.

Deep clean (optional)
$ brew uninstall --zap --cask \      transmission@beta

--zap also deletes the settings, caches and other files listed in the Homebrew definition. They can include data shared with other apps and cannot be restored, and it does not guarantee that nothing is left.See which files are removed
