SwiftPlantUMLApp generates class diagrams from Swift code and provides a macOS app for viewing and configuring diagram visualization.
- In Xcode, create a diagram from a Swift file or selected Swift code using the Source Editor extension.
- In Finder, create a diagram from selected Swift files using the Finder extension.
- Configure diagram visualization in the hosting macOS app; configuration is optional.
- The extensions use the SwiftPlantUML Swift package. The project recommends its separate command-line tool for large diagrams spanning Swift files across folders.
Install with Homebrew:
brew install --cask swiftplantumlapp
Launch SwiftPlantUMLApp after installation, then enable the SwiftPlantUML extension under macOS Settings > Extensions > Xcode Source Editor to use it in Xcode. To use it from Finder, enable “Open Swift Class Diagram” under Extensions > Finder.
