Sublime Merge
Sublime HQ Pty Ltd · A macOS Git client dev build for browsing repository history and working with commits, branches, diffs, and stashes.
Sublime Merge is a Developer Tools app for Mac.
About
Sublime Merge is a graphical Git client. This Homebrew cask installs the dev-build variant, an in-progress release track that is updated more often than stable builds. The dev build is available to everyone at present; the publisher notes that access may become limited to licensed users in the future.
With Sublime Merge, you can:
- Inspect repository history in a commit graph and view commit details.
- Review file changes with text and image diffs, and examine line history with blame.
- Work with branches, tags, stashes, and Git worktrees through the interface.
- Search repositories and use Git LFS-related controls, including tracking files and managing locks.
Install it on macOS with brew install --cask sublime-merge@dev. The cask installs Sublime Merge.app in /Applications and provides the smerge command-line executable. It conflicts with the stable sublime-merge cask, so both variants cannot be installed together through these casks.
Dev builds contain less-tested code and may show update notifications more often. Sublime Merge can be downloaded and evaluated for free, but a license is required for continued use; the publisher states that the evaluation currently has no enforced time limit.
