PS Remote Play is Games software for Mac. It needs macOS 12 or later.

About

PS Remote Play lets you control a PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 4 console from a Mac at a different location, provided you have a high-speed internet connection. A PS5 or PS4 console is required.

  • Use the app to access and play supported console games remotely.
  • Remote Play is not available for every game; games requiring peripherals such as PlayStation VR2, PlayStation VR, or PlayStation Camera are not compatible.
  • Certain activities cannot be used at the same time as Remote Play, including playing Blu-ray or DVD discs, playing music, watching video services, and streaming games from PlayStation Plus Premium.

Install with brew install --cask sony-ps-remote-play. The cask requires macOS Monterey or later. After installation, open PS Remote Play and follow PlayStation’s setup instructions to connect to your console. Availability and behavior can vary with the console, operating system, and app version.

Install and uninstall

Homebrew runs the RemotePlayInstaller.pkg installer, which asks for an administrator password.

Install without Homebrew

Download the same file Homebrew uses: remoteplay.dl.playstation.net/remoteplay/module/mac/RemotePlayInstaller.pkg

Uninstall command
$ brew uninstall --cask \sony-ps-remote-play

A regular uninstall removes the app and keeps its settings and caches.

Deep clean (optional)
$ brew uninstall --zap --cask \sony-ps-remote-play

--zap also deletes the settings, caches and other files listed in the Homebrew definition. They can include data shared with other apps and cannot be restored, and it does not guarantee that nothing is left.See which files are removed
