About

Send to Kindle is a Mac utility for sending personal documents to your Kindle library. Amazon describes the service as a way to read sent documents on a Kindle device or in the Kindle app, with features such as reading progress, notes, highlights, and bookmarks.

  • Send files from Finder by right-clicking and choosing Send to Kindle; the app also supports drag-and-drop uploads.
  • Use the app’s USB File Manager to transfer files directly to a Kindle connected to your Mac by USB.
  • Supported file types listed by Amazon include PDF, DOC, DOCX, TXT, RTF, HTM, HTML, PNG, GIF, JPG, JPEG, BMP, and EPUB.

Install with brew install --cask send-to-kindle. The cask requires Rosetta. After installation, select a file in Finder and choose Send to Kindle, or open the app to upload files. For direct USB transfer, connect a Kindle and open USB File Manager from the app or its Tools menu.
