ScanSnap Home is Office software for Mac.

About

ScanSnap Home is the macOS PC software for working with scanned documents, receipts, business cards, and photos from compatible ScanSnap scanners. It brings scan management and related tools together in one application.

  • Save scan settings and destinations as profiles, then reuse them for subsequent scans.
  • Store scans as PDF or searchable PDF, and search recognized text in supported formats.
  • Organize scans by document type and use keywords, folders, and tags to find files.
  • Edit scans and convert them to editable Word, Excel, or PowerPoint documents.
  • Use automatic image-processing features such as size detection, rotation, skew correction, and blank-page removal. Photo correction is available for selected scanner models.

Install with brew install --cask scansnap-home. The package installs the macOS PC version; it is not the mobile app. The official specifications list macOS Monterey 12 or later and identify supported scanner models, including iX2500, iX2400, iX1300, iX100, and SV600. Some functions, including cloud services and integrations, vary by region, scanner, or installed third-party application.

Install and uninstall

Homebrew runs the ScanSnap Home.pkg installer, which asks for an administrator password.

Install without Homebrew

Download the same file Homebrew uses: origin.pfultd.com/downloads/ss/sshinst/m-410/MacSSHOfflineInstaller_4_1_0.dmg

SHA-256 only checks that the download is complete; it is not a security certification. See the SHA-256 and download address

Uninstall command
$ brew uninstall --cask \scansnap-home

A regular uninstall removes the app and keeps its settings and caches.

Deep clean (optional)
$ brew uninstall --zap --cask \scansnap-home

--zap also deletes the settings, caches and other files listed in the Homebrew definition. They can include data shared with other apps and cannot be restored, and it does not guarantee that nothing is left.See which files are removed
