About

Satellite Eyes is a macOS app that changes your desktop wallpaper to an overhead view of your current location. When you take your laptop somewhere new, it can update the wallpaper to show the area around you.

  • Offers map styles ranging from aerial photography to abstract watercolors.
  • On multi-monitor setups, can span the image across the full width of the displays.
  • Can rotate through a selection of sights from around the world when you prefer not to show your local area.

To install it, run brew install --cask satellite-eyes, then open Satellite Eyes. Location lookup uses macOS Location Services; the developer notes that a location fix requires Wi-Fi to be enabled and a working internet connection. If nearby Wi-Fi access points cannot be located through Apple’s database, the app may not determine your position.

Satellite Eyes requires macOS 13 or later.
