QGIS LTR is a Education & Science app for Mac.

About

QGIS LTR is the long-term release variant of QGIS, a desktop geographic information system for working with spatial data. It provides tools to design maps, edit geographic layers, and run spatial analysis.

  • Create maps: Arrange map content with the layout designer and produce print maps, atlases, and reports containing maps and tabular content.
  • Edit spatial layers: Digitize and edit points, lines, polygons, and meshes; additional construction tools work with curved geometries and geometry transformations.
  • Analyze data: Use built-in analysis tools and combine them visually into reproducible workflows.
  • Work with data and services: QGIS supports various data sources and formats, as well as web services based on industry standards.

Install this specific LTR variant with brew install --cask qgis@ltr. The cask installs QGIS-LTR.app in /Applications. After installation, open the app to start working with geographic data. The official QGIS site provides quick-start tutorials and documentation.

This is the desktop LTR application, not a mobile or cloud edition. The supplied cask identifies macOS as a requirement.

Install without Homebrew

Download the same file Homebrew uses: download.qgis.org/downloads/macos/ltr/qgis_ltr_final-3_44_15.dmg

SHA-256 only checks that the download is complete; it is not a security certification. See the SHA-256 and download address

Uninstall command
$ brew uninstall --cask qgis@ltr

A regular uninstall removes the app and keeps its settings and caches.

Deep clean (optional)
$ brew uninstall --zap --cask \qgis@ltr

--zap also deletes the settings, caches and other files listed in the Homebrew definition. They can include data shared with other apps and cannot be restored, and it does not guarantee that nothing is left.See which files are removed
