PLaMo Translate is a AI Tools app for Mac. It needs macOS 12 or later.

About

PLaMo Translate is a desktop application for translation built around Japanese-language support. The service also describes its AI as designed to produce natural translations that take context into account.

  • Translate pasted text, including structured content such as Markdown, while retaining its layout.
  • Translate PDF and Office files while preserving formatting and page layout.
  • Translate web pages using the service’s browser-extension offering, and translate live audio with transcripts and subtitles.
  • The service lists 53 supported languages; meeting translation is available for a subset of 15. These are service capabilities, and the desktop cask installs the macOS app only.

Install the desktop app with brew install --cask plamo-translate. This cask is for Apple Silicon Macs running macOS Monterey or later. After installation, open PLaMo翻訳.app from Applications.
