PhotoSweeper X is a Photography and Images app for Mac.

About

PhotoSweeper X is a Mac app for finding duplicate and similar photos, then reviewing candidates before removal. It works with files and folders on internal or external storage, as well as libraries in Apple Photos, Capture One, and Adobe Lightroom Classic.

  • Search for duplicates, similar images, or series of shots. Adjustable settings let you control similarity and the time gap used to group shots.
  • Review matches in “One by One”, “Face-to-Face”, or “All in One” modes. Automatic marking rules can help choose which image to keep, and Auto Lock protects photos already sorted from being marked for removal.
  • Removal behavior depends on the source: files and Capture One items go to the system Trash; Apple Photos items move to a special album; Lightroom Classic items are marked “Rejected” and placed in a special collection.
  • The photo browser includes EXIF details, movie preview, Quick Look, and a path bar. The app also supports batch renaming while copying or moving files.
  • The official site lists popular image formats, including RAW and HEIC, plus PDF, DNG, and WebP; it also describes support for various video formats.

Install with brew install --cask photosweeper-x, then open PhotoSweeper X from Applications. The cask requires macOS. The official site describes the app as optimized for Apple Silicon.
