About
Microsoft NTFS for Mac by Paragon Software is a commercial file-system driver that adds write access to Windows NTFS volumes on macOS. It supports hard drives, SSDs and USB drives, allowing users to create, edit, copy, rename and delete files through normal Mac workflows.
Volume management
The desktop application and menu-bar companion expose mount, unmount and verification operations. The official product documentation also describes formatting and integrity checks. Mount options include read-only access and disabling automatic mounting, useful when you want explicit control over a volume. Erasing or formatting a disk destroys data; keep backups before performing these operations.
Installation and permissions
The vendor describes installation followed by a Mac restart, after which supported NTFS volumes become available in Finder. The recorded Homebrew cask uses a manual installer and requires a kernel extension. Follow the vendor instructions for your Mac and approve required permissions in System Settings > Privacy & Security.
