About
Yubiswitch is a macOS status bar application that lets you enable or disable YubiKey devices. It is intended to help prevent accidental key activation, such as a key emitting an OTP when its touch surface is pressed unintentionally.
- Switch a YubiKey on or off using a configurable global keyboard shortcut.
- Use the Preferences window to limit control to devices with specified Product IDs; leaving the field blank allows control of Yubico devices generally.
- Send
KeyOnandKeyOffcommands through AppleScript, including withosascript. - The app uses a privileged helper to access the USB HID interface. On first launch, it asks for your password to install that helper.
Install with brew install --cask pallotron-yubiswitch. The cask requires macOS 12 or later. The project documentation also describes Accessibility and Input Monitoring access settings for macOS Catalina and later, and says those permissions are needed for the documented computer-lock-on-key-removal behavior.
