About

OnyX Beta is a graphical utility for maintenance and configuration tasks on macOS. It brings together operations that might otherwise require command-line commands, including checks of system file structure and several kinds of cleanup and maintenance.

With OnyX, you can:

  • Verify the structure of system files and perform cleaning and computer maintenance tasks.
  • Uninstall applications and delete caches.
  • Configure selected parameters in Finder, Dock, Safari, and some Apple applications.
  • Remove certain problematic folders and files, and rebuild various databases and indexes.

Install this beta variant with brew install --cask onyx@beta. It installs OnyX.app in /Applications. This cask requires macOS Golden Gate 27 and an Apple silicon Mac, as specified for this release by Titanium Software. The beta cask conflicts with the regular onyx cask, so they cannot be installed together through these casks. Titanium Software provides a separate OnyX release for each major macOS version; use the release intended for your operating system.
