About

NetNewsWire is a free, open-source RSS reader for Mac. This Homebrew cask installs the beta variant, which brings articles from blogs and news sites together and keeps track of what you have read. The homepage also describes NetNewsWire versions for iPhone and iPad; this cask installs the Mac app only.

  • Add feeds directly or use the Safari extension to add them.
  • Organize feeds in folders and use smart feeds for unread articles and Today.
  • Find articles with search, and save articles with the starred feature.
  • Customize article themes, use Reader view and Dark Mode, and navigate with keyboard shortcuts.
  • Import and export OPML feed lists; the homepage also lists syncing options including iCloud and several feed services.

Install with brew install --cask netnewswire@beta. This beta cask requires macOS 15 or later and conflicts with the netnewswire cask, so the two casks cannot be installed together. Select this beta token if you want this specific release channel; the homepage describes the product generally and may cover other versions.
