MongoDB Compass Isolated
MongoDB · A macOS desktop GUI for exploring MongoDB data, running queries and aggregations, and analyzing collections.
About
MongoDB Compass Isolated is a desktop graphical tool for exploring and analyzing MongoDB data. Its visual interface supports working with collections without relying solely on command-line interaction.
- Inspect collection metadata, including date ranges and frequent values, to spot data patterns and issues such as missing fields or inconsistent types.
- Filter, sample, sort, and modify query results using the built-in query bar and query operators; the official Compass overview also describes natural-language query generation.
- Build aggregation pipelines with a visual builder that previews data as it moves through pipeline stages.
- Review database and server metrics, examine query performance with the visual Explain Plan, and manage indexes.
Install the cask with brew install --cask mongodb-compass-isolated-edition. The cask requires macOS 13 or later and installs MongoDB Compass Isolated Edition.app in /Applications. This is the isolated edition of the desktop application, not a command-line tool. The official product page describes MongoDB Compass generally; features described there may not all be specific to this isolated variant.
