MailMate is a Communication app for Mac.

About

MailMate is an IMAP email client for macOS. Its beta cask installs the MailMate application and provides the emate command-line binary. The official site lists macOS 10.12 or later as a requirement.

Notable features include:

  • Extensive keyboard controls and Markdown-integrated email composition.
  • Advanced search conditions, drill-down search links, and smart mailboxes.
  • Automatic signature handling, message tagging, and multiple notification methods.
  • OpenPGP and S/MIME encryption and signing, plus alternative message-viewer layouts, including a widescreen layout.
  • Flexible integration with third-party applications.

Install the beta variant with brew install --cask mailmate@beta. It conflicts with the separate mailmate cask, so the two variants cannot be installed together. The cask also makes emate available in Homebrew's binary directory.

Uninstall command
$ brew uninstall --cask \mailmate@beta

A regular uninstall removes the app and keeps its settings and caches.

Deep clean (optional)
$ brew uninstall --zap --cask \mailmate@beta

--zap also deletes the settings, caches and other files listed in the Homebrew definition. They can include data shared with other apps and cannot be restored, and it does not guarantee that nothing is left.See which files are removed
