LightCraft
ArtCraft team · An open-source photo library and non-destructive raw developer with color grading, masking, albums, ratings and local processing.
About
LightCraft is ArtCraft’s open-source photo library and raw developer, independently implemented in Rust. It provides native applications and a WebAssembly build; this listing installs the native macOS application. The official site states that it works locally without an account, cloud storage, telemetry or subscription.
Non-destructive development
Adjustments leave original images untouched. The project documents a scene-referred, wide-gamut, 32-bit float pipeline with exposure and contrast controls, white balance, color mixing, grading wheels, tone curves, texture, clarity, dehaze, vignette and grain. Before-and-after views let you compare edits against originals.
Brushes, linear and radial gradients and luminance or color ranges provide local masking. The official site lists native raw decoding for formats including DNG, CR2, ARW, NEF, RAF, RW2, PEF and ORF; support varies with camera and release, so test your files. Albums, ratings, flags and search help organize a photo library.
Installation and maturity
The upstream project is young and moving quickly. This Homebrew listing installs LightCraft.app from the official universal macOS 0.4.0 DMG for Apple silicon and Intel. Command-line and web builds are separate downloads. Keep backups of originals and validate import and export behavior for your workflow.
