About
iStats Menus is a macOS system-monitoring app that presents selected information in menu bar items and detailed menus. This Homebrew entry installs the iStat Menus 6 variant.
- Track CPU and supported Mac GPU activity, memory use, disk space and activity, network traffic, battery state, and sensor readings.
- Customize which menu bar items and details are shown, including their colors and order; combined mode can consolidate multiple items into one.
- Set rules that notify you about events involving system resources, connectivity, battery, or weather.
- View weather forecasts, configurable clocks, a calendar with upcoming events, and world clocks.
- The official product page notes that fan speeds can be controlled; some GPU and sensor information is available only on supported Macs.
Install with brew install --cask istat-menus@6, then open iStat Menus from Applications. The cask installs iStat Menus.app and requires macOS. The official page describes newer iStat Menus releases separately, so this cask is specifically for the version 6 variant.
