About

IBM Aspera Connect is a desktop client for transferring files with an Aspera transfer server. IBM lists Connect for macOS, Windows, and Linux and describes it as supporting uploads and downloads. IBM also says that IBM Aspera Client is replacing Connect; these are distinct products.

  • Supports file uploads and downloads with an Aspera transfer server.
  • The supplied package artifact is for macOS ARM64. This is distinct from IBM’s Windows and Linux downloads and browser add-ons. The Homebrew cask also defines an Intel package.
  • The cask uses a macOS package installer and includes uninstall and cleanup definitions for Connect-related components and user data.

Install the cask with brew install --cask ibm-aspera-connect. The supplied package is for macOS ARM64; the cask also provides an Intel option. IBM’s downloads page offers Connect downloads and documentation. IBM identifies Aspera Client as the product replacing Connect, so check IBM’s current product information when choosing between them.
