Hyper
ZEIT, Inc. · A macOS canary build of Hyper, a terminal built on web technologies with configurable settings and an extension system.
About
Hyper is a terminal application built on web technologies. This Homebrew cask installs the canary variant, rather than the regular hyper cask. The cask packages the Hyper app and a hyper command-line binary for macOS.
- Configure terminal appearance and behavior, including font settings, colors, cursor, shell, environment variables, window size, and scrollback, through
.hyper.js. - Change command key mappings in the configuration file.
- Extend or theme Hyper with plugins; the project describes extensions as Node.js modules available through npm.
- The underlying terminal uses
xterm.js.
Install with brew install --cask hyper@canary. The cask declares a macOS dependency and conflicts with the regular hyper cask, so both variants cannot be installed together through these casks. This is a canary release channel, distinct from the stable release channel described on Hyper’s homepage; expect it to be a pre-release variant, not the regular cask.
To get started, open Hyper and use its configuration file to adjust settings or add plugins. Select a plugin through the plugins setting in .hyper.js as described in the project’s documentation.
