Google Chrome Canary
Google · Google’s experimental Chrome channel for testing browser features and reporting issues before stable release.
About
Chrome Canary is the experimental Chrome channel for developers and early testers. It receives frequent updates and lets you try work still in development. Expect regressions, crashes and changing behavior; keep another browser available for work that depends on stability. A Canary release is not the stable Chrome release with the same major number.
Browsing and testing
Use Canary to inspect web applications, test upcoming browser behavior and report reproducible issues. It has its own application identity and can coexist with other Chrome channels. Extensions, account sign-in and synchronization are optional workflows; review their access to browsing data and the account you select.
Requirements and download
The exact catalog version is 157.0.8091.0. The official googlechromecanary.dmg response reports 278,879,744 bytes. The public Chrome requirements page describes current supported Mac systems, but a numeric minimum and the CPU slices of this exact Canary artifact were not independently established here; those remain verification gaps rather than invented compatibility guarantees. Package size is not installed disk consumption.
Privacy, permissions and licensing
Chrome Canary is proprietary Google-distributed software built with Chromium and other open-source components. Google service terms and privacy policies apply to services you choose to use. Websites can request camera, microphone, location or notification permission; approve only the access needed. Extensions can request broader site access, and synchronization can transfer selected browser data to your Google account. This entry does not claim that Canary browsing or diagnostics are entirely offline or telemetry-free.
Version evidence
The latest three catalog records are 157.0.8093.0, 157.0.8092.0 and 157.0.8091.0. The current download entry remains 157.0.8091.0; newer history records do not change its stated artifact metadata. Each version is matched to its exact official Chromium source tag and chrome/VERSION file. The release entries summarize selected commits from bounded adjacent-tag comparisons; they are not exhaustive release notes, verified Mac runtime behavior or a promise that every source change is enabled in the distributed browser. Official same-channel Canary Android product-family artwork and a genuine annotated mobile browsing example are supplied. They are not presented as Mac screenshots or exact desktop-build artwork.

Official family media
The supplied icon and mobile feature example come from Google LLC’s official Chrome Canary (com.chrome.canary) Google Play listing. The screenshot shows Android browsing with publisher annotations, not Mac or exact Canary build UI. Mobile artwork does not establish desktop compatibility, feature parity or exact desktop changes.
