GIMP development version
A development-channel build of GIMP, the free and open-source image editor, for photo work, illustration, design, and scripted image manipulation.
About
GIMP development version is a development-channel build of the GNU Image Manipulation Program, a free and open-source image editor. This Homebrew cask installs the macOS application GIMP.app and provides a gimp command-line wrapper. This development build is distinct from the regular gimp cask, and the two casks conflict.
GIMP can be used for photo retouching, restoration, and composites, as well as original artwork and graphic-design elements such as icons and interface mockups. The project also describes GIMP as a framework for scripted image manipulation, with support for languages including C, C++, Python, and Scheme. Its customization options and third-party plugins can extend workflows. Color-management features support work intended for digital and printed media.
Install with brew install --cask gimp@dev, then open GIMP from your Applications folder. The cask also makes the gimp command available for launching the application from a terminal. This entry is specifically for the development version; it is not the regular gimp cask.
