About

Twitter Color Emoji is an SVGinOT (SVG-in-OpenType) emoji font made from Twitter Emoji for Everyone artwork. The Homebrew cask installs the regular TwitterColorEmoji-SVGinOT.ttf file; it does not install the separate macOS variant that replaces Apple Color Emoji.

  • Includes color emoji and black-and-white outline fallbacks.
  • Supports ZWJ sequences, skin-tone diversity, and country flags.
  • Color rendering depends on the application: the project identifies Firefox, Thunderbird, and Photoshop CC 2017+ as supporting SVGinOT color emoji; other applications may show the black-and-white fallback.

Install with Homebrew by running brew tap homebrew/cask-fonts followed by brew install --cask font-twitter-color-emoji. After installation, select Twitter Color Emoji in a compatible application when you want to use this font. On macOS, emoji may otherwise default to Apple Color Emoji, so installing this font alone does not replace the system’s default emoji font.

Install and uninstall

Homebrew installs the font in ~/Library/Fonts, where Font Book can use it.

Uninstall command
