About

Times Newer Roman is a typeface based on Nimbus Roman No. 9 L, designed to resemble Times New Roman while making text wider. The official site describes it as a way to increase the length of page-limited academic papers; it is not Times New Roman itself.

  • The design widens characters and the spaces between them without changing their vertical heights, according to the project description.
  • The lowercase x-height is increased, and punctuation and its surrounding spaces are enlarged.
  • The Homebrew cask installs four OpenType font files: Regular, Italic, Bold, and Bold Italic.
