SF Pro (San Francisco Pro)
Apple Inc. · Apple’s San Francisco Pro system typeface, with nine weights, variable optical sizes, four widths and a rounded variant for Apple-platform interface design.
About
SF Pro is Apple’s neutral, flexible sans-serif system typeface for Apple platforms. This Homebrew package installs the SF Pro font collection through Apple’s SFProFonts.pkg; it is a font resource, not a standalone desktop application.
Typography
Apple documents nine weights, variable optical sizes for legibility at different text sizes, four widths and a rounded variant. SF Pro supports more than 150 languages across Latin, Greek and Cyrillic scripts. The broader San Francisco family includes typographic features such as small caps, fractions, inferior and superior numerals, indices and arrows. Apple-platform text frameworks apply size-specific features automatically.
Design and development
Apple links its Human Interface Guidelines for using these fonts in Apple-platform apps, along with SwiftUI, UIKit, AppKit and Core Text documentation. SF Compact, SF Mono, New York and script extensions are separate downloads; this listing does not claim that all of them are installed by the SF Pro cask.
Licensing and version scope
The fonts are licensed by Apple, not an unrestricted open-source font distribution. Review the license provided with the download before using, embedding or redistributing the files. Apple’s page includes restrictions on permitted interface mock-up uses and other uses. No official public source-code repository is identified on the fonts page.
Homebrew records an unversioned latest row and a mutable SF-Pro.dmg URL with no_check, rather than a numbered upstream release. An exact release date, change list and immutable-build download size cannot be inferred from that row. Font specimens are not application screenshots, and this collection has no standalone GUI or established application icon.
