About

Pretendard JP is a font family intended for Japanese-language environments. The Homebrew cask installs nine individual static OTF files, from Thin through Black, rather than a variable font.

  • Included weights: Thin, ExtraLight, Light, Regular, Medium, SemiBold, Bold, ExtraBold, and Black.
  • The project describes Pretendard JP as suited to Japanese environments, with additional support for Korean hanja contexts.
  • These installed files are font assets, not an application. They do not establish full character coverage or support for particular typography features.

Install with Homebrew using brew install --cask font-pretendard-jp. After installation, select the installed Pretendard JP font and desired weight in a compatible application, such as a document editor or design tool. The cask installs these files: PretendardJP-Thin.otf, PretendardJP-ExtraLight.otf, PretendardJP-Light.otf, PretendardJP-Regular.otf, PretendardJP-Medium.otf, PretendardJP-SemiBold.otf, PretendardJP-Bold.otf, PretendardJP-ExtraBold.otf, and PretendardJP-Black.otf.
