Noto Serif CJK JP is a font you can install on a Mac.

About

Noto Serif CJK JP is the Japanese-language serif variant in the Noto Serif CJK family. This Homebrew cask installs seven static OpenType fonts for Japanese: ExtraLight, Light, Regular, Medium, SemiBold, Bold, and Black. It installs these specific Japanese OTF files, not the family's other language variants, variable fonts, or OTC packages.

To install, run brew install --cask font-noto-serif-cjk-jp. The font files are placed in ~/Library/Fonts. After installation, select the desired Noto Serif CJK JP weight from the font menu of a compatible application to use it. This installs fonts, not a standalone application. The available files identify the included weights but do not establish complete Unicode coverage or support for typographic features such as ligatures.
