About

Noto Sans CJK KR is the Korean-default, language-specific OpenType edition of Noto Sans CJK. The official download guide distinguishes this full-coverage OTF edition from the smaller Korean region-specific subset and from variable-font and collection formats.

The Homebrew package installs seven static fonts: Thin, Light, DemiLight, Regular, Medium, Bold and Black. Its artifact is the official 07_NotoSansCJKkr.zip archive. This is a font collection for use in applications, not a standalone desktop application or a separate font-management utility.

Language-specific OTFs retain full character coverage and default to the selected language. Applications that support language tagging and the OpenType locl localized-forms feature can choose glyph forms appropriate to other supported CJK languages. The guide also describes horizontal and vertical forms where appropriate; the separate Mono downloads are not part of this package.

Install with brew install --cask font-noto-sans-cjk-kr. Homebrew places the seven OTF files in the user's Library/Fonts directory. Noto Sans CJK is distributed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.
