About
New York is Apple’s serif typeface, designed as a companion to San Francisco and informed by historical type styles. Its variable optical sizes let it serve as a reading face at smaller sizes and a display face at larger sizes.
- Includes six weights.
- Supports Latin, Greek, and Cyrillic scripts; this does not imply complete Unicode coverage.
- Variable optical sizes adapt the typeface for different text sizes.
Install the font package on macOS with brew install --cask font-new-york. This installs a font, not an application. After installation, select New York by name in a compatible application’s font menu to use it. The available font files are the installed artifacts; the package information does not enumerate their names or establish that every possible style is included.
