About

MyricaM is a free TrueType font designed for programming. Its ASCII characters are based on Inconsolata, while characters outside ASCII are based on Mgen+. The design aims to make characters easier to distinguish, including Japanese text.

  • ASCII characters use Inconsolata-based glyphs, with selected forms modified for clearer distinction.
  • Japanese and other non-ASCII characters are based on Mgen+.
  • Half-width and full-width character widths are adjusted to a 1:2 ratio.
  • The design includes adjustments to help distinguish similar characters, such as Japanese dakuten and handakuten marks.

Install the supplied font with brew install --cask font-myricam. This cask installs MyricaM.TTC; it does not install a separate application. After installation, select MyricaM in a compatible application’s font settings. The installed file is the Mgen+-based MyricaM variant, not the separate Myrica font file.
