Migu 1P
itouhiro · A proportional Japanese font combining M+ and IPA Gothic, with character-shape refinements intended to improve readability.
About
Migu 1P is a Japanese proportional font derived from MigMix 1P and combining M+ with IPA Gothic. Its name’s “P” denotes proportional spacing. The official description highlights modified character forms, including larger handakuten marks to make them easier to distinguish, and Japanese kanji glyphs aligned with JIS2004.
- Uses proportional spacing rather than a fixed-width layout.
- Enlarges handakuten marks to help distinguish them from dakuten.
- Includes character-shape distinctions for selected easily confused symbols and kana, as described by the project.
- The Homebrew cask installs two TrueType font files: regular and bold.
Install with brew install --cask font-migu-1p. After installation, choose the installed Migu 1P font in the font settings of an application that supports custom fonts. This installs font files, not a separate application. The package provides the regular and bold files listed below; it does not establish that other Migu variants are included.
