About

Migu 1C is a Japanese font based on a combination of M+ and IPA Gothic. The “C” denotes Clear; its Latin-letter and digit designs differ somewhat from Migu 1P. This Homebrew cask installs two TrueType files: regular and bold.

  • Full-width hiragana, katakana, and seven punctuation marks are proportionally spaced, rather than uniformly sized.
  • The design includes larger handakuten marks to help distinguish them from dakuten.
  • Character shapes provide distinctions among several easily confused pairs, including 0 and O, 1, I, and l, and selected kana and kanji forms.
  • The font follows JIS2004 kanji forms.

Install with brew install --cask font-migu-1c. After installation, select the installed Migu 1C regular or bold font in an application that supports user-installed fonts; this package installs fonts, not an application. The official page describes Migu 1C as proportional, so it is not a monospaced coding font.
