Meslo LG
Bitstream · A customized Menlo-based monospaced font family with small, medium, and large line-gap variants.
About
Meslo LG is a customized version of Apple’s Menlo-Regular, designed as a monospaced font for development work. Its three line-gap variants—small (S), medium (M), and large (L)—offer different vertical spacing. The supplied Homebrew cask installs 12 font files: Regular, Bold, Italic, and Bold Italic styles across these three variants. It does not install the separate Meslo LG DZ dotted-zero variant.
To install, run brew install --cask font-meslo-lg. After installation, select the actual Meslo LG font and desired style in a compatible application. For coding, choose it in an editor or terminal that supports selecting fonts; installing the font does not install an application.
The project describes Meslo LG as a Menlo customization, with changes focused on line spacing and the asterisk’s alignment. Its documentation also notes adjustments to font metrics and Windows rendering. Arabic support is not included, according to the project. Included font files establish the installed styles, but do not by themselves establish complete Unicode coverage or ligature support.
