Menlo for Powerline
Jim Lyles · A Menlo font patched for Powerline, installed as four regular, bold, italic, and bold italic font files.
Menlo for Powerline is a font you can install on a Mac.
About
Menlo for Powerline is a patched Menlo font intended to work with Powerline. The Homebrew cask installs four specific TrueType files:
- Menlo for Powerline.ttf
- Menlo Bold for Powerline.ttf
- Menlo Italic for Powerline.ttf
- Menlo Bold Italic for Powerline.ttf
The bold, italic, and bold italic files provide additional styles alongside the regular font. This package installs fonts, not an application. To use it, install the files and then select the installed font—such as Menlo for Powerline—in a compatible application’s font settings. For coding, choose it in an editor or terminal that supports font selection; the project also describes use with MacVim, Terminal.app, and iTerm.
Install with brew install --cask font-menlo-for-powerline. On macOS, the cask places the font files in ~/Library/Fonts. The font may display unusual glyphs when viewed in a font installer, but the project notes that it is intended to work as expected. The available files are the four named styles; installation does not establish broader character coverage or ligature support.
