About

Martian Mono is a monospaced typeface from Evil Martians, designed for code-style work and interface design. The Homebrew cask installs static OTF font files, not a separate application or the variable-font package.

The installed files provide multiple static variants across several widths and weights. The font is designed for screen use and includes OpenType and TrueType hinting. It also has coding ligatures: the default set converts some character sequences into symbols, while Stylistic Set #03 offers spacing ligatures that retain the original characters.

Install it with brew install --cask font-martian-mono. After installation, select Martian Mono and a desired style in the font picker of a compatible application. For coding, choose it in a text editor or terminal that supports custom fonts; installing the font alone does not change an application's font setting. The installed cask files are static variants, so instructions for the separate variable family, Martian Mono VF, do not describe this installation.

The project describes the typeface as free and open source.

Install and uninstall

Homebrew installs the font in ~/Library/Fonts, where Font Book can use it.

Install without Homebrew

Uninstall command
$ brew uninstall --cask \      font-martian-mono

A regular uninstall removes the app and keeps its settings and caches.
