Libre Caslon Display
Pablo Impallari, Rodrigo Fuenzalida · A display typeface inspired by hand-lettered American Caslons of the 1960s, with OpenType alternates and numeral features.
About
Libre Caslon Display is a display typeface drawing on hand-lettered American Caslon lettering from the 1960s. Its design is intended for large headlines; Libre Caslon Text is a separate subfamily described as optimized for web body text.
The font’s documented OpenType features include 20 ligatures, context-sensitive short L and T forms, an alternate uppercase A (ss01), lining proportional numbers by default, and old-style proportional numbers. It also provides inferiors, superiors, numerators, denominators, fractions, and ordinals. The project describes the Libre Caslon fonts as covering 104 Latin languages; this particular Homebrew cask installs the Display font file listed below.
Install with brew install --cask font-libre-caslon-display. The cask installs LibreCaslonDisplay-Regular.otf. After installation, select Libre Caslon Display in a compatible application’s font menu to use it. This package installs a font, not an application.
The project identifies the typeface as licensed under the SIL Open Font License v1.1. The installed file is the Regular style; the cask does not install the separate Libre Caslon Text subfamily.
