About
Last Resort is a special-purpose Unicode fallback font. When another font cannot display a character, its glyphs can help indicate the Unicode block or category to which that code point belongs. It is intended to make missing characters more informative, not to display their actual script or meaning.
- Uses representative symbols to identify Unicode blocks; some glyphs include block-name and code-point-range details in the frame.
- Includes distinct glyphs for unassigned code points and noncharacters.
- This Homebrew cask installs the
LastResort-Regular.ttffile, the Last Resort font—not the separate Last Resort High-Efficiency variant. - To use it, install the font and select Last Resort in a compatible application’s font settings or configure it as a fallback font. It is a font, not an app; choosing it does not supply the missing character’s proper design.
Install with brew install --cask font-last-resort. The installed file is LastResort-Regular.ttf.
