Gen Jyuu GothicX
自家製フォント工房 · A rounded Japanese Gothic font family with proportional, monospaced, and other width variants in multiple weights.
About
Gen Jyuu GothicX is a rounded Gothic-style font derived from Source Han Sans (Noto Sans CJK). The official description says the source font was converted to TrueType and modified to give its glyphs rounded corners. This is the X variant, described as having more rounded forms than the standard Gen Jyuu Gothic and the L variant.
The supplied font files include proportional, monospaced, and P-prefixed families, with styles such as ExtraLight, Light, Normal, Regular, Medium, Bold, and Heavy represented across the file set. The monospaced files are identifiable by Monospace in their names. The package installs a particular set of font files; it is not an application and does not select a font for you.
Install it with brew install --cask font-genjyuugothic-x. After installation, choose the installed GenJyuuGothicX font and desired style in an application that lets you select fonts. For coding, select one of the monospaced styles in a compatible editor or terminal; for other text, choose a suitable proportional or P-prefixed style. The font files are TrueType. The official page identifies the font as available under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.
