About

FiraMono Nerd Font is the Nerd Fonts edition of Fira Mono. It adds developer-oriented icon glyphs to the original typeface for use in terminals, code editors and shell prompts. This Homebrew cask installs fonts, not a standalone graphical application.

Included fonts

The recorded 3.5.1 archive contains nine OpenType files: regular, medium and bold weights in Nerd Font, Nerd Font Mono and Nerd Font Propo variants. The variant suffix describes how the added Nerd Fonts glyphs are spaced; the project supports monospaced, double-width and proportional icon glyphs. Choose the installed variant in your terminal or editor font settings.

Glyphs and installation

Nerd Fonts combines glyph sets including Font Awesome, Devicons, Octicons, Powerline symbols and other developer icons. The official cheat sheet helps locate glyphs. Install with brew install --cask font-fira-mono-nerd-font; the Homebrew artifacts place the font files in the user Library/Fonts directory. The archive is architecture-independent font data, not an Apple-silicon executable.

Version scope

3.5.1 is the Nerd Fonts collection release, not a claim about the upstream Fira Mono version. The backend currently records one version for this exact cask. Its release notes are collection-wide and distinguish changes to other font families. No standalone application icon or GUI screenshot is established for this font-only package.

Install and uninstall

Homebrew installs the font in ~/Library/Fonts, where Font Book can use it.
