About
Fairfax HD is a halfwidth, scalable monospace font intended for terminals, text editors, and IDEs. The Homebrew cask installs five specific font files; it does not install an application.
FairfaxHD.ttfis the main variant, recommended by the maker where possible.FairfaxHaxHD.ttfadds programming ligatures.FairfaxPonaHD.ttfandFairfaxPulaHD.ttfadd OpenType features that transcribe Latin text into sitelen pona and titi pula, respectively.FairfaxSMHD.ttfomits characters whose widths differ from basic ASCII, including combining and double-width characters, for programs that rely on character advance widths to identify monospaced fonts.- The family supports many scripts and Unicode blocks, constructed scripts in the Under-ConScript Unicode Registry, and a range of pseudographic, semigraphic, and private-use characters. Some scripts are explicitly unsupported, and the maker describes Tengwar typesetting as very limited.
Install the cask with brew install --cask font-fairfax-hd. Then select the installed Fairfax HD variant you want in a compatible terminal, editor, or other application’s font settings. The Pona and Pula text substitutions depend on OpenType feature support in the application. The installed files alone do not guarantee full Unicode coverage or ligature behavior across applications.
