Cochineal
Michael Sharpe · A serif font family with four OpenType styles installed by this Homebrew cask.
About
Cochineal is a serif font family, derived from the Crimson fonts and inspired by oldstyle typefaces. This Homebrew cask installs four OpenType font files: Cochineal Roman, Italic, Bold, and Bold Italic. It is a font package, not an application.
The Cochineal project also provides LaTeX support for the family. The CTAN description characterizes the fonts as multilingual and identifies Cyrillic and Greek among their language-related features. Those project details do not establish the full character coverage of the four files installed by this cask.
Install with brew install --cask font-cochineal. After installation, select the actual Cochineal style you want in a font-compatible application. For typesetting or document work, choose the relevant style from that application's font settings; installing the cask does not install or configure a typesetting application.
This cask installs only the four listed OpenType styles, not every format or style associated with the broader Cochineal project. The project describes its fonts as provided in OpenType and PostScript formats, but this cask's installed files are OpenType.
