About

Bravura is an OpenType music font developed for Steinberg’s Dorico music notation and composition software. It is also the reference font for Standard Music Font Layout (SMuFL), a standard for mapping musical notation symbols to Unicode’s Private Use Area.

The Homebrew cask installs two font files: Bravura.otf and BravuraText.otf. These are the specific files provided by this cask; they are not an app or an installer for Dorico. The fonts are intended for use in software that can work with music notation fonts. Select the installed font in the compatible application where you want to use it.

Install with:

brew install --cask font-bravura

After installation, choose Bravura or Bravura Text in your application’s font settings. The available files establish which font styles are installed, but do not establish complete Unicode coverage or support for ligatures.
