Dropbox · The beta Dropbox desktop client for macOS, packaged as the `dropbox@beta` Homebrew cask.
Dropbox is a Files and Storage app for Mac.
About
Dropbox is a desktop client for the Dropbox cloud storage service. This Homebrew entry installs the beta build of the macOS client, rather than the separate stable cask. The Dropbox Community build page lists beta and stable desktop builds and notes that the client receives regular updates and fixes.
- Installs
Dropbox.appin/Applications. - The supplied beta build notes include a fix for signing in to an additional Dropbox account from the tray menu in the streamlined desktop app.
- This cask conflicts with the
dropboxcask; choose one of them rather than installing both.
Install with brew install --cask dropbox@beta. This beta cask requires a kernel extension. If installation fails, enable the extension in System Settings → Privacy & Security, then retry. The installed app is the macOS desktop client; the build page also identifies the beta and stable release tracks.
