About

Clover Chord Systems is a music notation editor focused on master rhythm and chord notation used in popular music. Its interface is designed around editing a score in a handwriting-like way, with detailed control over individual parts of the notation.

  • Enter chords using a three-step method for varied chord types or a one-step method for diatonic chords. The one-step method follows the key of the bar where the chord is entered.
  • Reuse previously entered chords from the input history with a click.
  • Use the Rhythm Matrix palette to view rhythmic notation in slash notation and add chords to the resulting rhythms.
  • Work with notation tools built specifically for master rhythm and chord charts, rather than orchestral scores.

To install the macOS app with Homebrew, run brew install --cask clover-chord-systems. The package requires macOS 12 or later. The official site offers a five-day free trial.
