About

Cisdem Duplicate Finder is a macOS app for locating duplicate files and similar photos. It can compare files by content rather than filename, and its similar-photo detection uses visual content. The app presents scan results for review before you decide what to remove.

  • Finds duplicate files across types such as images, documents, music, videos, and archives, and can also identify duplicate folders.
  • Detects visually similar photos, including edited, resized, or differently lit versions; the site says this image processing runs on-device.
  • Lets you sort, search, filter, and preview results, including side-by-side file previews and file information.
  • Offers automatic or manual selection of duplicates and three removal choices: move to Trash, remove permanently, or move to a chosen folder.

Install the Homebrew cask with brew install --cask cisdem-duplicate-finder, then open Cisdem Duplicate Finder from Applications. Add folders or libraries to scan, start a scan, review the results, and choose items and a removal method. The cask installs the macOS app. The product page notes that the trial can scan and preview results, but does not allow all selected duplicates to be deleted with one click.
