Chime is a Developer Tools app for Mac. It needs macOS 14 or later.

About

Chime is an open-source text and code editor designed for macOS. Its website describes a minimalist interface focused on helping users concentrate, alongside modern editor features.

  • Supports the Language Server Protocol (LSP).
  • Extensions can provide deeper project integration, and the website notes that Chime’s extensions are native to macOS.
  • The editor is distributed as the Chime.app application.

To install this alpha cask, run brew install --cask chime@alpha. The cask requires macOS 14 or later. It conflicts with the separate chime cask, so both cannot be installed together.

Uninstall command
$ brew uninstall --cask \      chime@alpha

A regular uninstall removes the app and keeps its settings and caches.

Deep clean (optional)
$ brew uninstall --zap --cask \      chime@alpha

--zap also deletes the settings, caches and other files listed in the Homebrew definition. They can include data shared with other apps and cannot be restored, and it does not guarantee that nothing is left.See which files are removed
